Bambu Report Guide

This guide provides definitions for every metric that is available in each of Bambu's reports. Click on any report name below to jump to the corresponding section in this guide. 

General Report

Metrics Overview

This section summarizes key statistics in the designated reporting period.

  • Active Stories: The number of Stories that were active inside Bambu.
  • Total Shares: The number of Shares from Bambu based off the active Stories.
  • Total Potential Reach: Total number of followers for all shares across networks. We use the network-specific follower count at the time of the share. This number does not include followers for re-shares or retweets of the original share that came from Bambu.
  • Shares by network: The number of shares broken down by day and network (LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter).
  • Earned Media Value: The total equivalent value for the potential reach of the shares in the designated reporting period across all networks.

Sharing Trends

This section breaks down shares by network and time in the designated reporting period.

  • Average shares by day of week: The average number of shares per day.
  • Average shares by the hour: The total number of shares per hour during the highlighted day of the week.
  • Story Performance: The number of shares per Story.

Top Users

This section displays the top 6 users in the designated reporting period.

  • Top Users, By Shares: This section shows top users based on their number of shares across networks.
  • Top Users, By Potential Reach: This section shows the top users who had shares that potentially reached the widest audience.

Content Report

Filter Report

  • By Curator: Show Stories from a specific curator inside Bambu.
  • By User Role: Show Stories for a specific user role (Admin, Contributor, Manager, Owner, Reader).
  • By Team: Show Stories assigned to a specific Team as well as any Stories they have engaged with inside Bambu that have data during the designated time period.
  • By Tag: Show Stories with a specific Tag.

Active Content Breakdown

This section summarizes your key content statistics in the designated reporting period.

  • Active Stories Per Day: The number of active Stories per day for a designated time period, broken down by shareable and internal.

Active Story Metrics

  • Shareable Stories: The number of active Stories that could be shared by a Bambu user.
  • Internal Stories: The number of active Stories that could be viewed but not shared by a Bambu user.
  • Total Stories: The total number of both Shareable and Internal Stories available.

Content Breakdown

Shareable Content

  • Story: The number of days, views, shares, engagements, and clicks (if available) on a Story.
  • Twitter Shares: The number of times that a Bambu user selected a Story and shared it on Twitter.
  • Facebook Shares: The number of times that a Bambu user selected a Story and shared it on Facebook.
  • LinkedIn Shares: The number of times that a Bambu user selected a Story and shared it on LinkedIn.
  • Total Shares: The number of times that a Bambu user selected a Story and shared it on their social networks.
  • Twitter Potential Reach: The sum of followers all Bambu users that shared a Story have on Twitter at time of share.
  • Facebook Potential Reach: The sum of friends all Bambu users that shared a Story have on Facebook at time of share.
  • Linkedin Potential Reach: The sum of connections all Bambu users that shared a Story have on Linkedin at time of share.
  • Total Potential Reach: Total number of followers for all shares across networks. We use the network-specific follower count at the time of the share. This number does not include followers for re-shares or retweets of the original share that came from Bambu.
  • Twitter Engagements: The number of times Twitter shares are favorited, receive a reply or are retweeted.
  • Facebook Engagements: The number of times Facebook shares receive a comment, receive a reaction such as a like or are re-shared by other Facebook users.
  • LinkedIn Engagements: The number of top level Comments, total Comments and total Likes on a LinkedIn share.
  • Total Engagements: The total number of engagements across networks.
  • Clicks: When link shortening is turned on, this calculates the total number of clicks across networks.

Internal Content

  • Days: The number of days an Internal Story has been available.
  • Views: The number of unique views on an Internal Story.

User Report

Filter Report

  • By Role: Show data only for a specific role inside Bambu.
  • By Team: Show data only for a specific Team.

User Activity Overview

This section summarizes your key statistics in the designated reporting period.

  • Active Users: The percent of users that are actively reading and sharing from Bambu.
  • Shared one or more Stories: The percent of users that logged in and shared one or more Stories.
  • Average shares per user: The average amount of Stories shared per user.

Team Breakdown

  • Shares Per Team: The number of Stories shared by a Team.
  • Potential Reach Per Team: The potential amount of audience reached at the Team level.

Individual Breakdown

  • Twitter Shares: The number of times that a Bambu user selected a Story and shared it on Twitter.
  • Facebook Shares: The number of times that a Bambu user selected a Story and shared it on Facebook.
  • LinkedIn Shares: The number of times that a Bambu user selected a Story and shared it on LinkedIn.
  • Total Shares: The number of times that a Bambu user selected a Story and shared it on their social networks.
  • Clicks: When link shortening is turned on, this calculates the total number of clicks across networks.

Curator Report

Curator Activity Overview

This section summarizes your key statistics in the designated reporting period.

  • Stories Added: The number of Stories added to Bambu.
  • Total Curators: The number of users inside Bambu that curated Stories.
  • Average Stories Per Curator: The average number of Stories a curator submits to Bambu.

Curator Breakdown

  • Team Member: The user inside Bambu that curated a Story.
  • Stories: The number of Stories that were created by a specific user inside Bambu.

Distribution Report

Email Metrics Overview

This section summarizes your key statistics in the designated reporting period.

  • Open Rate: The percentage of emails received during the reporting period that have been opened.
  • Click Rate: The percentage of emails that were opened and received clicks on a Story inside the email.
  • Share Rate: The percentage of total shares on Stories that originated from an email.

Email Story Shares

  • Story Shares Per Email Type: The percentage breakdown of shares that came from emails, by type of email sent. Includes Digest, Newsletter and Broadcasts.

Email Breakdown

This section includes data only for Newsletters and Broadcasts. Digest emails are not included in this breakdown since the content varies by individual.

  • Recipients: The number of users that an email was sent to.
  • Open Rate: The percentage of emails received during the reporting period that have been opened.
  • Click Rate: The percentage of emails that were opened and received clicks on a Story inside the email.

Report Data Backfill

Data will backfill for the following dates:

  • Emails sent will backfill to March 15, 2018
  • Shares that originated from an email will backfill to April 12, 2018
  • Opens and clicks will backfill to April 30, 2018
  • Stories within each email (for the email breakdown) will backfill to May 10, 2018
